The casting of Ranveer Singh as Don in the third instalment has drawn mixed reactions from fans. Some fans are excited to see Singh take on the role, while others are disappointed that Shah Rukh Khan will not be returning. Arjun Rampal, who played the main antagonist in Don, is confident that Singh will be able to do justice to the role.

In an interview with Zoom, Rampal said, "I think it's good. It is like when you do a Bourne Ultimatum, or a Bourne Identity or a James Bond (film). Don is that kind of a franchise. So, the mantle's being put onto Ranveer's shoulders. I think he is a fantastic actor and I think he will give it his best shot. So, I wish him all the best."

For the unversed, the first Don film, released in 1978, starred Amitabh Bachchan as the titular character. The film was a huge success. Later, in 2006, Don was released with a new lead played by Shah Rukh Khan. The sequel of Shah Rukh Khan-led franchise was released in 2011.

Speaking of Ranveer Singh, he is known for his energetic performances and his ability to take on challenging roles. Don 3 is expected to be released in 2024.
