On Friday, Priyanka Chopra re-posted a video of Janhvi Kapoor on her Instagram Stories, in which the young actor spoke about gender equality. By sharing the clip, Priyanka echoed Janhvi’s views and emphasized the importance of using one’s voice to spark conversations and help the younger generation understand the true meaning of equality.
While resharing the video, Priyanka wrote, “It starts with a conversation so here I go. Preach Janhvi Kapoor,” along with a clapping emoji. The video featured Janhvi speaking at the recent We The Women Asia event in Mumbai, where she highlighted the need for dialogue, awareness, and confidence among women.
Janhvi said, “I think it starts with conversation, it starts with debate, it starts with being able to use your voice and encouraging the generation ahead of you to be more aware of what being an equal actually means. As women, I truly believe we’re unstoppable. We just need to realize that a little more. There is no bigger privilege than being a woman; we just need to start being treated the same way.”
Janhvi, the daughter of the late cine icon Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor, received widespread appreciation for her thoughtful words.
Upcoming projects
Priyanka is set to return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is scheduled to release in theatres during Sankranthi 2027. She will also appear in The Bluff, in which she plays a 19th-century Caribbean pirate, and is currently working on Season 2 of the web series Citadel.
Janhvi was last seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. She will next be featured in Ram Charan’s Peddi, directed by Uppena filmmaker Buchi and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas. Presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyendu Sharma, and Boman Irani. With music by AR Rahman, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, and editing by Navin Nooli, Peddi is slated for a theatrical release on March 27, 2026.
