The Prithvi Festival 2025, organised by the Kapoor family, opened in Mumbai over the weekend with an evening full of warmth, art, and celebration. The annual theatre festival, hosted at the iconic Prithvi Theatre, saw several well-known names from Bollywood in attendance.
The opening night, held on Sunday, brought together stars such as Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Divya Dutta, and Zahaan Kapoor, among others.
Photos shared by the official Prithvi Theatre Instagram account showed a lively evening where Naseeruddin Shah, Boman Irani, and Neena Gupta were seen dancing, while Zahaan Kapoor — a trustee of Prithvi Theatre — greeted guests and shared a cheerful conversation with his brother-in-law, Saif Ali Khan. The post was captioned, “An evening of celebration, connection, and theatre’s timeless charm. Here’s to the warmth, the respect, and the magic that opened Prithvi Festival 2025.”
The pictures sparked some friendly FOMO in the industry, with several actors expressing regret at missing the event. Dia Mirza commented, “Missed being with you all so much,” while Lillette Dubey wrote, “So sad we missed it because of the opening of our show Zen Katha on the same day! Lovely pics.” Others, including Rasika Dugal, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Aahana Kumra, and Vrajesh Hirjee, also sent their love and best wishes.
About the Prithvi Festival
The Prithvi Festival is an annual celebration of performing arts held at Prithvi Theatre, traditionally marking the beginning of the winter season. This year, the festival runs across Prithvi Theatre and Prithvi House until November 17.
The 2025 edition, themed around “Celebrating Stories, Stage, and Community,” features a diverse line-up of new plays, film screenings, music performances, and interactive workshops by renowned artists, including Naseeruddin Shah.
