With only a week left for Shah Rukh Khan to return to the screens with Pathaan, fans are excited to see the superstar in an action avatar. The actor also stars alongside Deepika Padukone who takes on an action role in a long time. John returns as a villain after a long time in Yash Raj Films’ actioner. Siddharth Anand is quite excited to see how audiences react to John’s character.

In a video interview with Yash Raj Films, Siddharth Anand said, “John is a mainstream hero and he is playing a mainstream villain in Pathaan. That is so exciting and so new. I don’t remember the last time a mainstream hero played a baddie. War, of course, but there were two shades to Tiger Shroff’s character – the good and the bad guy. But, he’s an out-and-out bad guy in this movie. So, it is very exciting for me and the audience to see a big star playing a villain.”

Directed by Siddharth Anand of War fame, Pathaan is said to be part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. Salman Khan is said to have a cameo in the movie. The movie stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia. The film releases in theatres on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
