Legendary athlete P.T. Usha has shared a deeply emotional tribute to veteran actor Dharmendra following his demise, bringing to light a heartwarming gesture the late star extended to her nearly four decades ago. The sports icon, fondly known as the “Payyoli Express,” posted a touching note on social media on November 25, recounting an incident from 1986 that left a lasting imprint on her life.

Remembering Dharmendra with affection and respect, Usha wrote, “In 1986, after winning 4 (gold medal emoji) & 1 (silver medal emoji) at the Asian Games, Dharmendra ji sent me Rs. 50,000/- cash prize for my achievement. We couldn't meet personally due to our busy schedules but sometimes love & affection are enough to keep the hearts connected even 1000 miles apart. RIP.” Along with the note, she shared a throwback photograph of Dharmendra from the 1970s, where the actor appears in his trademark charismatic avatar — a reminder of the stature and charm that made him one of Indian cinema’s most adored stars.
