The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), showcasing over 240 films from 81 countries, continues to affirm its position as one of Asia’s most prominent cultural platforms. As part of this prestigious festival, the world premiere of Oslo: A Tail of Promise will take place in Goa. The film arrives at a time when India’s relationship with animals is drawing renewed public attention and reflection.

Presented and produced by actor and animal advocate John Abraham, Oslo: A Tail of Promise is a heartfelt, non-linear documentary exploring the extraordinary bond between a Siberian husky, Oslo, and Pooja R Bhale, founder of the Protecterra Ecological Foundation. The story emphasizes the belief that animals have long guided humans, offering wisdom and solace, particularly in times of struggle.
Reflecting on the film, John Abraham said, “Animals don’t need us. We need them more—for grounding, for healing, for the unconditional love they offer without ever asking for anything in return. Oslo: A Tail of Promise is a tribute to that truth, and I am grateful that IFFI is giving this story the space it deserves.”
The Indian Panorama section, regarded as IFFI’s most prestigious national platform, selects 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films each year from over 300 entries across India. Oslo: A Tail of Promise being included in this lineup highlights both its thematic relevance and emotional depth.
Directed by Isha Pungaliya and presented by John Abraham, the film is a joint production of JA Entertainment, Protecterra Ecological Foundation, and Vaanar Nirmit. Its premiere at IFFI 2025 promises to bring attention to the profound connections between humans and animals, offering a cinematic experience that is both moving and thought-provoking.
