Entrepreneur and podcast host Navya Nanda Naveli, granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, recently offered a rare glimpse into her family life and value system in an interview with Mojo Story. Speaking candidly about her bond with her grandparents and the lessons she’s inherited from her parents, Navya reflected on how her family’s principles have shaped her identity.

“I have spent so much time with my grandparents growing up, and still do, we still live together, which is an unusual thing for young people. We don’t fight, we have healthy debates on a lot of things. It’s a conversation around things that are relevant today and that matter,” she shared.

Navya, who often engages in thought-provoking discussions on her podcast, also spoke about the dynamic between her and her family members, including her cousin and brother. “For anyone who has seen a podcast, they will know that every episode is a disagreement or a discussion. Surprisingly, there isn’t a clash, even though we are very different personalities, we actually have similar values more than anything that defines who I am. It’s the values that I was brought up with, and they are a very specific set of values that both sides of my family have instilled in us,” she explained.

Talking about the core principles she grew up with, Navya said, “The first thing that we have grown up around is a lot of respect and family. I think respect is something that is at the heart of who we are as people, whether it’s my grandparents or the youngest member in my family, my cousin or my brother. We have a lot of respect, not just for each other or for people, but also for what we do and where we come from.”

Reflecting on her parents’ influence, Navya added, “Now that I am a lot older, I look back and realise that both my parents spent a lot of time shaping who I am today. And only now I am realising that it is a very selfless and thankless job. We don’t say thank you enough to our parents and to the people who raise us — and that, to me, is empowerment.”

With her thoughtful words, Navya Nanda Naveli highlighted how deep-rooted family values, mutual respect, and gratitude continue to define the Bachchan family legacy while shaping her own perspective on modern womanhood and empowerment.
