Although the new reality show, Lock Upp started off on a lighter note, in the last episode, we saw things heating up between contestants as they fought over food- something that isn’t uncommon in reality shows owing to the limited access to food and basic amenities. In the latest episode, things escalated pretty quickly over just some extra ‘garam masala’ added to the food.

Sara, who made it clear at the start of the show that she is here to clear off the controversies, has since then maintained a very calm and composed demeanour. It all started when Sara mentioned that there was more garam masala than usual in the food, but this did not go down well with Payal. The latter then not just accused Sara of complaining about the food to everyone, but linked the high amount of acidity to that of cigarettes, and advised that one should watch their smoking intake. That’s when the conversation took an irrational turn. Although at this point one would find it absurd to continue the conversation, Sara tried to calm down a yelling Payal by gently saying, "Mein aapke paas baat karne aayi".

Payal then dragged Shivam into the conversation but the latter calmly explained that he was hurt by the demeaning comparison between garam masala and cigarettes and that it’s his choice that he smokes. He then folded his hands and withdrew from the conversation by saying “Don’t take names of other contestants in front of me, and talk to the concerned contestant for issues related to them. Don’t include me in conversations where you’re talking behind someone’s back”. Even Tehseen Poonawalla tried to pacify a resentful Payal but failed to do so.

Witnessing this, contestant Karanvir Bohra said, “Isko isolate kardenge, neglect kara denge aur koi baat nahi karega isse” (She will be isolated and neglected and no one will talk to her).
