Tracing back to his initial days in the industry, Anil Kapoor candidly recalled how despite being a star kid, he was insecure about other stars landing bigger projects than him. “I felt insecure about Jackie Shroff's success at that time. Until I signed a Yash Chopra film, I felt like an outsider even though I wasn't one,” he said. “I also felt the same way when Sanjay Dutt and Sunny Deol were launched,” he added.

Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff worked together on 12 films including Ram Lakhan (1989), Karma (1986), Kabhi Na Kabhi (1998), Trimurti (1995), Andar Baahar (1984), Kala Bazaar (1989), Shootout at Wadala (2013) among others.
