Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 is set to host the World Cup–winning Indian Women’s Cricket Team this week. The episode will feature team members Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Kaur Deol, Richa Ghosh, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, and India Women’s Team Head Coach Amol Muzumdar as special guests.
In the latest promo shared by the makers, host Amitabh Bachchan was seen engaging in a light, candid conversation with Shafali Verma. When asked how her cricket journey began, she explained, “I started playing with the boys in a boys’ academy because there was no cricket academy for girls.”
She went on to recall a pivotal moment from her early days. “One day, my brother had to go for a tournament but he fell sick. My father called the coach to say he wouldn’t be able to play. I said, ‘I can go.’ My father warned me that I might get hurt, but I went anyway. I played the match wearing my brother’s jersey and ended up being the Player of the Tournament.”
Amitabh Bachchan then asked her about her debut performance. Laughing, she replied, “Zero, sir.” He encouraged her, saying, “There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. The person who gets zero becomes the hero later in life.”
Another promo showed Amitabh Bachchan dancing with the women’s team, with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur teaching him the steps to a popular song.
Last month, Team India defeated South Africa in the 2025 T20 World Cup at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. India posted 298 for 7 and won the match by 52 runs.
