Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan recently opened up about her elder son, Taimur Ali Khan's immense love for cricket and sports, revealing that, unlike his film star parents, Taimur shows little interest in acting. The eight-year-old Kapoor-Khan scion is reportedly a huge fan of cricketing legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and also admires football star Lionel Messi.
Speaking on her sister-in-law Soha Ali Khan's popular podcast All About Her, Kareena shared amusing moments from parenting Taimur, including the little boy’s frequent requests for contact details of these sports icons so he could message them and even ask for their cricket bats. Kareena said with a laugh, “The only thing he keeps asking is, ‘Are you friendly with Rohit Sharma? Are you friendly with Virat Kohli? Can you message and ask if I can get that bat of his? Is there a contact you have for Lionel Messi?’ I’m like, ‘No! I don’t know them!’”
Kareena further revealed that Taimur is not drawn to Bollywood or its big names, pointing out that he does not even recognise his famous uncle, Ranbir Kapoor. Instead, his interests lie firmly in the sports arena, with cricket and football capturing his heart more than cinema or music. She added, "He’s just interested in some Chelsea players right now."

It is no surprise that Taimur has developed a passion for cricket given his family's illustrious cricketing heritage. His grandfather, the late Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was one of India's finest cricket captains. Saif Ali Khan, Taimur’s father, often shares stories of the family’s cricket legacy with him, including the counties his great-grandfather and grandfather played for in England.
