In an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times, Kajal explained that she remembered having a fun and nurturing childhood, filled with play and the love of her parents. She said that she learned many emotions through play and created some of her best memories during those moments. The photo she shared with the publication was taken at home when she was about three years old. She added that she had no memory of the doll in the picture and did not think she was ever attached to any of her toys.

Kajal Aggarwal was born and raised in a Punjabi family with roots in Amritsar before settling in Mumbai. Her father, Vinay Aggarwal, worked as an entrepreneur in the textile business, while her mother, Suman, was a confectioner. Kajal also has a younger sister, Nisha Aggarwal, who built her own acting career in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema.
