Is Abhinav getting back at Salman with Besharam? : Bollywood News

Yesterday, we saw the trailer release of the much anticipated Ranbir, Rishi, Neetu Kapoor starrer Besharam. The film which has been talked about right since its announcement will be releasing this October. In fact ensuring that the film will be a success, the makers have capitalized on an extended five day weekend starting from October 2 right till October 6. With the surety of the film's success, owing to these two factors, we at Bollywood Hungama decided to tread a different path. In this feature we deconstruct the meanings and undertones in the trailer of Besharam to analyze whether the film is Abhinav Kashyap's way of retaliating to team Dabangg.

On first watch, the trailer that features Ranbir in a totally different avatar. Contrary to his usual lover- playboy image, Ranbir plays a care free absolutely shameless petty thief. Though here the film and the plot may differ from Salman's Dabangg, there are more than a few similarities- namely the director, the setting (small town), Rishi's character name and occupation - Chulbul the cop, genre and lead actress.

If that wasn't enough of in your face similarity, Abhinav goes so far as to even include a line that says, 'Naam Chulbul rakhne se koi thodi na Dabangg banta hai'. With a statement like this one can't help but witness the stark resemblance to the Salman starrer.

Even the action sequences are quite like what was seen in Dabangg, outright over the top stunts, impossible jumps, punches and kicks. While Sonakshi Sinha was making her debut in Dabangg, Besharam features Pallavi Sharda, who gets her first solo lead actress role.

Looking at all these nuances, one can't help but wonder if Abhinav is getting back at Khan brothers - Salman and Arbaaz, who gave a big hit with Dabangg 2, without his involvement.
