Unlike some of her glamorous roles in the past, Alia Bhatt once again has entered the experimental zone with her Bhojpuri speaking character in Udta Punjab. While everyone is aware that the actress plays the role of an aspiring hockey player, here's a look of the actress from the song 'Ikk Kudi'.
After Shahid Kapoor's 'Chita Ve', this song which focuses on Alia Bhatt, who plays yet another protagonist in the film, is said to be a soulful melody that depicts the journey of the actress' character in the film. Talking about the song, Alia added, "When I heard the track for the first time, I instantly fell in love with it. In fact, while shooting for the soulful song, I got emotionally moved."
Interestingly, the song is sung by Punjabi superstar and singer Diljit Dosanjh who also plays the role of a cop in the film. Overwhelmed with the opportunity, the Punjabi star said, "I was extremely glad to know that Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi's poem 'Ikk Kudi' would be featured in my debut Hindi film. And more that I am so excited and happy that I got to sing it. It was really an experience which will always be special for me. I hope people like the song as much as I do."
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Udta Punjab also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and is slated to release on June 17.
