Critically acclaimed director Hansal Mehta has expressed his frustration over the ordeal his daughter has been facing while trying to obtain an Aadhaar card. Taking to X on Wednesday, Mehta criticised the Aadhaar officials for their alleged harassment.

Daughter Denied Aadhaar Card Despite Multiple Attempts

According to Mehta, his daughter has been making repeated visits to the Aadhaar office in Andheri East for the past three weeks. However, she has been consistently turned away due to various excuses provided by the senior manager. "My daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhaar card since past 3 weeks. She makes the long trek to the Aadhaar office in Andheri East braving rains, going early enough and the senior manager there keeps sending her back on some pretext or the other. Get this signed, get this document, the stamp is not in the correct place, you don't have an appointment today, I am on leave for a week..." he wrote.

Criticising Officials for Harassing Behaviour

Mehta strongly condemned the behaviour of the Aadhaar officials, calling it "most frustrating and nothing short of harassment." The tweet quickly garnered attention, with many users sharing similar experiences and offering support to Mehta.
