“I feel like I manifested this”: Avika Gor set to marry Milind Chandwani on national television

Actor Avika Gor, best known for her role in Balika Vadhu, is set to tie the knot with her fiancé Milind Chandwani on September 30. The wedding will take place during the auspicious period of Navratri and will be featured on her television show Pati Patni Aur Panga.

Confirming the news, the 28-year-old actor shared that the reality of the upcoming wedding was still sinking in. “There were days when I woke up and had to remind myself that this is real,” Avika said. “I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have found someone who supports me, understands me, and constantly motivates me to grow.”

Avika revealed that both families were equally supportive and excited about the marriage. Choosing to marry on national television wasn’t just a grand decision for her, but also a personal one. “I’ve been in the public eye since 2008, and the love and support I’ve received over the years has been overwhelming,” she said. “I wanted my audience, who have played such a big role in my journey, to be part of this special moment. In a way, I feel like I manifested this.”

Avika also recalled a childhood memory that reflects her long-standing vision for the big day. “I used to tell my parents, ‘I’ll either have a quiet court marriage that no one knows about, or a grand wedding for the whole world to see.’ It’s surreal to see that dream come true,” she shared.

Her family, she said, responded with overwhelming support. “My mom became emotional when the wedding invite was revealed on the set. Now, with so many people involved, it feels like a big fat Indian wedding—not just ours,” Avika said. The couple planned to send out formal invitations after visiting Siddhivinayak temple on September 22, the first day of Navratri.

When it came to her bridal look, Avika chose to stick with tradition. “For me, it has to be red—any shade of red, but definitely red,” she said. “I’ve even told my family that guests should wear pastels so there’s no clash. While I love the pastel trend that many Bollywood brides have embraced, I’ve always dreamed of being a traditional bride.”

Though several of her close friends from the industry, including Harsh Limbachiyaa, Bharti Singh, Jannat Zubair, and Aly Goni, couldn’t attend due to work commitments, Avika said she appreciated their thoughtful messages and support from afar. “Of course, I wished they could be there in person, but knowing they’re sending love in spirit makes it just as special,” she said. She also expressed gratitude for the well-wishes from senior industry figures. “Nagarjuna sir has always been like family to me. His warm wishes truly touched me. Even Anupam Kher sir and Mahesh Bhatt sir sent their blessings. It means a lot to have their support during such a major moment in my life,” she said.

As the wedding date approached, Avika said she was cherishing every moment. “Each morning, I woke up thinking, ‘Oh my God, it’s actually happening.’ My mind had already started counting down the days until we take our pheras,” she said. “Even the cast of the show, including Sonali Bendre ma’am and the other couples, were thrilled to be part of this milestone in Milind’s and my life.”
