In a conversation, Saqib discusses his unexpected journey into acting, noting it was never a career he actively pursued. Coming from Delhi with no film industry connections, he never imagined a career in front of the camera.

However, through a series of unexpected events and the belief of others in his potential, acting eventually became his path. Saqib also shares insights into his role as a rookie crime journalist in ‘Crime Beat’ and how it contributes to his evolving craft.

Saqib Saleem shared, “I never wanted to act. In fact, I never thought I could act. Coming from Delhi, with no one in my family involved in the film industry, the idea that someone would pay to watch me was completely alien. I would rather pay to watch someone else. It was only because others believed I could act that I got into the industry. It wasn't until my second film that I truly understood what acting was and what it demanded from me. Acting chose me, I didn’t choose it.”

‘Crime Beat’ follows rookie crime journalist Abhishek Sinha (Saqib Saleem), who inadvertently gets involved in a high-stakes case with the return of the most-wanted fugitive, Binny Chaudhary (Rahul Bhat), to India. As Abhishek investigates further, he uncovers a dangerous web of crime, corruption, and deceit, putting both his career and life at serious risk.
