In an exclusive conversation on Bollywood Hungama’s Lights, Camera, Podcast, Bobby Deol opened up about his friendship with superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Speaking about Shah Rukh Khan with Rohit Khilnani, the actor stated that they have been meeting more frequently at award shows and events. “Shah Rukh is a great guy. I’ve been more in touch with him recently because somehow, we’ve been meeting pretty often. He’s a very loving and caring person,” Bobby said. He also admires how SRK stays humble despite achieving immense stardom. “That’s what’s so amazing, when you reach that level and still stay humble and kind.”

Bobby’s connection with Salman Khan dates back even further. He recalled their first meeting, noting that although Salman was already a star, he remained humble and grounded. “Before I started my career, I used to practice horse riding and bike stunts on the beach. Salman had just delivered his first blockbuster, but he would still come there, ride horses, do stunts, and just be so chilled out. That’s how I met him.”

Fondly calling Salman ‘mamu’, Bobby added, “Mamu is something else. That man is a blessing. He doesn’t just help me, so many actors have benefitted from his kindness. He’s all heart and just wants to help everyone he can.” The actor also referred to Salman Khan as Dharmendra’s other son and praised his generosity.

Bobby also shared how Salman encouraged him to break out of his comfort zone for Race 3. “I was always shy about taking my shirt off. But at that point, I was ready to do anything and everything to get noticed. Salman just told me to do it.”

For Bobby, true competition isn’t about rivalry but self-improvement. “You can’t succeed by backstabbing or manipulating others. The only competition I believe in is with myself, staying disciplined and working hard.”
