Priyam Saha appeared in just one scene in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood as the production designer who gets kicked by Freddy Sodawallah (Manish Chaudhari). Yet, she managed to leave a strong mark. Interestingly, this wasn’t her first acting assignment. She has worked in Bhangra Paa Le (2020), Babli Bouncer (2022) and Doctor G (2022). She also played a crucial part in the 2024 Amazon Prime Video show, Waack Girls. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Priyam spoke about her journey and a lot more.
Priyam said, “I became an actor by chance. Imagine you are a Bollywood fan all your life and you get to be in a Bollywood movie. Even when I went on the set for the first time, it was already more than what I ever wanted. The other day, my friend sent me a screenshot of my IMDb page. And it just hit me that I have been in 3 movies and 2 web shows!”
She then spoke about her non-acting work and brought the house down with her replies, “Apart from acting, I also run my dance company called Goddess Hour Inc. I am building a community where everybody, especially women, can come together. As for my day job, I am a creative producer and writer. I also do stand-up; I was the first runner-up on a comedy show at Comedy Central a few years ago. Yesterday was my first day on the set where I was a choreographer-cum-movement coordinator. So, when an opportunity matches my skill, I am very grateful. Also, I live in Mumbai all alone. Toh main paison ke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hoon (laughs). My friends joke that all my skills are monetized. I know Tarot and I have also dabbled in it professionally. So, if you have some work for me, do call. I’ll hopefully do a half-decent job!”
Has she received any acting offers after The Ba***ds Of Bollywood? Priyam Saha quipped, “Nobody has called me. I am waiting for Shah Rukh Khan to call me for King! My dates are free; whenever he needs me, I’ll be on set (laughs).”
Has she met SRK while working on the web series? Priyam replied, “I didn’t meet him through Ba***ds. But I have had the great honour and privilege when I was a journalist at Miss Malini. I met him thrice; those were the best days of my life.”
After the release of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, Priyam put up a selfie with Aryan Khan on her Instagram handle. The caption claimed that the young director was smiling 2 seconds before the photo was clicked. When asked about it, Priyam Saha revealed, “Can you imagine that the word that can be associated with Aryan is ‘animated’? He’s such a good actor and fluent in English and Hindi. He talks fluently and jokes a lot. But as soon as somebody points a camera at him, the smile vanishes.”
Sharing more info about the picture, she said, “I asked him for a picture on the day of our dubbing. He agreed smilingly. But by the time I opened my front camera, the smile was gone. And I was like, ‘Ok, you are not smiling anymore’. Though I (asked if he could smile for the selfie) and hoped that he would relent, he didn’t. As soon as my camera was down, he hugged me and he smiled once again (smiles).”
Priyam further said, “Yeh Shah Rukh ka hi beta ho sakta hai. Imagine taking this call to not smile. Koi zaroorat hai iss cheez ki? He can just smile like a normal person and we could all move on. But here we are, talking about why Aryan Khan doesn’t smile in front of the camera when he’s literally one of the funniest people you’ll meet.”
