Babil Khan continues to win hearts and stir conversations with his raw, compelling performances—and his latest role in ZEE5’s Logout is no exception. In this tense thriller drama, he steps into the shoes of Pratyush Dua, a rising social media influencer obsessed with hitting 10 million followers to secure a lucrative brand deal. But when his phone is stolen, his carefully constructed digital life is hijacked, plunging him into a chilling battle for identity.
As the buzz around Logout grows, so does the appreciation for Babil’s layered portrayal. But beyond the screen, the young actor is also using this moment to speak up about something deeper: the creative stagnation he sees in mainstream cinema.
“I think we’ve forgotten how to take risks,” Babil says, candidly. “Everything is formulaic now. Everyone’s playing it safe—afraid of trolls, afraid of failing. But if we only stay on the safe path, it slowly kills something inside us. And if you’re dead inside, how will you ever truly connect with your audience? Why would they pay to watch something with no soul?”
He urges the industry to embrace discomfort again—to stumble, to fail, and to grow. “It’s time to be uncomfortable again. To take the leap, fall flat, laugh at ourselves, and then find our way back. That’s the only way forward—not just as artists, but as people”.
Logout, directed by Amit Golani and written by Biswapati Sarkar, is a purposeful film on digital identity, the illusion of fame, and the cost of validation. As Pratyush’s life spirals out of control under the thumb of an unseen manipulator, Babil Khan’s call for creative bravery feels all the more urgent—and necessary.
