Rachit Singh recently received acclaim for playing a Betaal named Veeran in Aditya Sarpotdar’s Thamma. The film was his debut as an actor. However, much before coming in front of the camera, he has been working as an acting coach and one of his protégé is the Saiyaara star Aneet Padda.
As we all know, Saiyaara turned out to be a surprise blockbuster and Aneet became a household name. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rachit expressed his happiness for the young actress. “You feel very happy,” he said. “I have been training Aneet from her first project and I have seen her grow as an actor, I have seen her perform. And now I just saw her in Saiyaara. I have so much love. She is so good; she is brilliant in the film. And the success is like out of this world; to get this success. So, you just feel very happy that you are a small part of somebody’s journey. I am very proud and happy. And I wish her all the very best.”
It’s a nice co-incidence that like Rachit, Aneet has also become a part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe. “Now she is also doing Shakti Shalini, which is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. It’s a standalone film in itself. So, I am just so happy for her that she is doing such great projects,” he said.
But Rachit revealed that it was director Nitya Mehra who found Aneet before he coached her. “She (Nitya) was directing a show called Big Girls Don’t Cry. She did one more show with Aneet, which is going to come; it’s a legal drama. I trained her for both the shows,” he said.
When asked how did he find Aneet during the initial stage when he met her, Rachit said, “When she came to me, the first thing which I told Nitya also is that she is so raw. There is no conditioning of acting. Whatever you tell her, she will do it. Sometimes we work a lot and become over-trained and get awareness. But she didn’t have that awareness. So, whatever you ask her to do, she will listen, surrender and just do it. I told Nitya and I told her also that you don’t know how good you are. So, I always felt that Aneet was fabulous from day one.”
Rachit will next be seen in Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem’s first production in the form of Baby Do Die Do, which is slated to release next year.
