Actor Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for his upcoming Telugu film, OG, opposite Pawan Kalyan. In a recent interview with The Times Of India, the actor shared his insights on working in the South film industry, highlighting key differences compared to Bollywood.

The Jannat actor shared thoughts on the South industry's disciplined approach to filmmaking, stating, "I think South filmmakers are way more disciplined than we are (in Hindi cinema). Every penny that they spend on their film shows on screen." He contrasts this with Bollywood, where, according to him, "we often spend money in the wrong areas... it doesn't eventually translate on screen."

The Murder actor acknowledges the South's strengths in visual effects, scale, and story selection, stating, "They have finesse in their films when it comes to VFX, the scale, and the choice of path-breaking stories." He believes Bollywood has "ground to cover" and can learn from their filmmaking methods.

Despite having achieved significant success as a leading man in Bollywood, the 44-year-old actor admitted he "never imagined" himself venturing into the South industry. However, the compelling script and character in OG drew him in. He commends Sujeeth, the director, for creating the film on an "enormous canvas."

Coming back to OG, releasing on September 27, 2024, features Pawan Kalyan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Arjun Das in key roles. The film will cater to a wider audience by releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, showcasing its potential to transcend regional boundaries.

Speaking of Emraan’s professional front, he was last seen in Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Besides OG, he will also be seen in a cameo in Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film Ae Watan Mere Watan. In addition, he will be seen on Showtime, an upcoming web show. He is also currently in talks with the makers of Adivi Sesh-starrer Goodachari 2.
