The posters of filmmaker Anand Tiwari’s Bad Newz created a lot of buzz and set major expectations from the trailer of the film, which stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in pivotal roles. The promo, which released yesterday in a grand manner, lived up to the expectations and succeeded in tickling the funny bones of the audience through its unusual theme of heteropaternal superfecundation – a woman being pregnant with twins of two different fathers.

Apart from the main theme, the trailer also made people laugh through its references to popular actors of the contemporary era that aren’t a part of the film. In one scene, Vicky’s character replaces the picture of actual tiger with that of Tiger Shroff. He also puts a poster of his real-life wife Katrina Kaif and tells Ammy’s character that he will have to move over his dead body to remove this one.

But that isn’t all. During the end of the trailer, one can see Vicky and Ammy’s characters, while in an argument, listing down what Ranbir Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Vicky’s characters did in their films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Manmarziyan. The last one, obviously, incited a funny reaction from Vicky.

Produced by Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, Bad Newz is the second film in the series after Good Newwz (2019), which starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani.
