Arjun Kapoor marked a major milestone this week as his debut film Ishaqzaade completed 13 years since its theatrical release on Monday. The 2012 film, directed by Habib Faisal and produced under Yash Raj Films, introduced Arjun Kapoor along with also featuring Parineeti Chopra in her first role as a lead. A blend of action and romance set against the backdrop of political and social tensions, the film struck a chord with audiences for its gritty treatment of small-town India and the volatile love story at its core.

To commemorate the occasion, Arjun shared a heartfelt note on social media addressed to his 26-year-old self — the age at which he stepped into the industry. Alongside a series of throwback pictures, he wrote: "Dear 26-year-old Arjun, You did it. You are standing at the edge of a dream that once felt impossible. I know how many nights you have stayed up, watching films, believing somehow that cinema would be your escape, your purpose. You also worked hard to transform - not just your body, but your mind, your spirit. The hours, the discipline, the setbacks...they were all worth it. Stay humble. Stay hungry. And never forget - this journey began with a bullied kid who simply loved movies too much to give up. With love and pride, Arjun 2.0"

He also captioned the post, “The boy who loved films became the man who lives for them. Marked 13 years of Ishaqzaade yesterday —grateful, grounded, growing. #13YearsOfIshaqzaade #Arjun2PointO”.

Ishaqzaade was notable for its raw tone, focusing on Parma (Arjun) and Zoya (Parineeti), star-crossed lovers from rival political families. The film received a warm response for its performances and unconventional storyline, becoming a stepping stone in both actors’ careers with Parineeti also bagging a National Award as Special Mention, for her performance.

Meanwhile, ever since his debut, Arjun has taken on a range of roles in films like 2 States, Ki & Ka, India’s Most Wanted, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. While not all projects have landed commercially, his willingness to experiment has kept him in the spotlight.
