Actor Aparshakti Khurana recently took a moment to reflect on a significant milestone in his career—the completion of two years since the release of the Amazon Prime Video series Jubilee, in which he played the role of Binod Das, who later transforms into the screen icon Madan Kumar. The show premiered on April 7, 2023, and gained strong praise for its storytelling, performances, and nostalgic look at the early days of the Hindi film industry.

Created and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Jubilee is a Hindi-language period drama set in the 1940s-50s, showcasing the inner workings and darker side of the early Indian film industry. The series was produced by Andolan Films, Phantom Studios, and Reliance Entertainment and starred Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Sidhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ram Kapoor.

Aparshakti's character, Binod Das, is a projectionist at a theatre who dreams of becoming a film star. Through a mix of ambition and calculated choices, Binod reinvents himself as Madan Kumar, a superstar in the fictional world of Jubilee Pictures. His journey in the series captured the highs and lows of stardom, exposing the moral compromises that came with fame and success. The actor received widespread appreciation for his layered portrayal of Binod/Madan, a role that was unlike any he had previously taken on. Audiences and critics praised him for stepping into a complex, morally ambiguous character, and his performance was considered one of the highlights of the series.
