Amitabh Bachchan marked the 118th birth anniversary of his late father and renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan with a deeply emotional tribute. Born on November 27, 1907, Harivansh Rai Bachchan remains one of the most celebrated literary voices in Hindi literature. His timeless writings, philosophical reflections, and lyrical mastery continue to influence readers even today. To commemorate the occasion, Amitabh Bachchan posted one of his father’s most famous lines on social media, accompanied by a heartfelt note. He wrote, “मिट्टी का तन, मस्ती का मन, क्षण भर जीवन, मेरा परिचय" — हरिवंश राय बच्चन 27 November 1907, उनकी याद में. (A body of dust, a heart full of joy, a moment’s life - that is my identity.)

The actor, who often speaks fondly of his father, also recalled a memorable family moment during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Sharing a personal anecdote, he said in Hindi, “This man sitting before you also had a day like that when he ate at a restaurant for the very first time. Moti Mahal is a very fine restaurant in Delhi, and I went there for the first time in my life — and that too after I had finished college. I had gone with my parents, and I still haven’t forgotten that occasion, just as you haven’t forgotten yours.”

He further added, “I had earned a little money, so I took them there. I was really nervous, you know, it’s a big restaurant where important people go, and we wouldn’t be able to go. If we went, how would people look at us, what would happen, how would our clothes be? What would people say? All these thoughts go through your mind, so I can understand your situation.”

Harivansh Rai Bachchan passed away in 2003 at the age of 95, leaving behind landmark works such as Madhushala, Agnipath, and Ruke Na Tu. These classics continue to inspire poets, artists, and admirers worldwide.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan remains active in films and television. He is currently hosting the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD, alongside Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
