Earlier this year, younger daughter of South megastar Rajinikanth, Soundarya took to Twitter to announce her separation from husband-entrepreneur Ashwin Ramkumar. Reportedly, she has filed for divorce at a family court recently.

While she did not divulge too many details on social media, Soundarya decided to put an end to the ongoing speculations about her troubled marriage by speaking up about it. Then, she had also revealed that the talks of divorce were on. According to recent reports, the two have decided to sort this amicably and hence have filed for divorce by mutual consent and the reason is said to be increasing difference of opinion between the couple.

On the career front, Soundarya who had taken a keen liking to graphic designing and production, continues her stints with the film industry. Her next film is VIP 2 (Velaiyilla Pattathari 2) which will star Kajol for the first time opposite Dhanush.
