Amidst many rumours and speculations, the remake of Telugu film Magadheera finally gets its hero and it is none other than Shahid Kapoor. Yes, the actor whose recently released Haider has been receiving tremendous response abroad, will be playing the male protagonist in this historic fantasy drama.
Passing across many generations, a 1609 AD love story that is left unfulfilled resurfaces when the warrior and his love, a princess, meet once again in the 21st Century as a common man and girl next door brought together by destiny. As their past is revealed, the two realize that their romance is placed on the bed of thorns and their enemies are eyeing an opportunity to strike. Based on reincarnation, the rights of this action drama were bought by Sajid Nadiadwala. Though the male lead has been finalized, the name of the female protagonist is yet to be revealed.
While the Telugu version of Magadheera was directed by S.S Rajmouli, it is yet to be seen as to who will be donning the director's hat for the Bollywood remake.
