It's final now! The release date of KHAKEE is finally fixed for January 16 [next week]. The release date of this multi-starrer had been pushed ahead several times for various reasons. Incidentally, next week will also witness the release of EK HASINA THI, which had also been shifted ahead time and again.

Although the two films can't be compared to each other on the surface [the genres are different, so is the star cast], yet there's no denying that the merits of the two films would be compared come Friday, January 16. After all, the people behind the two films are amongst the best and most successful names of Bollywood Rajkumar Santoshi and Ramgopal Varma, respectively.

In conversation with this writer, RGV said he was least worried that his medium-budget film would face a mighty opposition in the form of KHAKEE. A good film is bound to click, no matter what the opposition. I am supremely confident of EK HASINA THI; it has shaped up exceedingly well.

While EK HASINA THI will be released with approx. 200 prints worldwide, KHAKEE will be released with approx. 400 prints in the domestic market. Before I forget, while KHAKEE opens next Friday, the week after [January 23] will witness the release of another Big B starrer, AETBAAR. Two Big B starrers in two consecutive weeks!
