Last year, we saw Rani Mukerji in two starkly contrasting roles with Aiyyaa and Talaash, while this year she will be seen in Bombay Talkies that celebrates 100 years of Indian Cinema as well as in a guest appearance in Chennai Express.
Rani now we hear has already signed her next, which will be directed by Pradeeep Sarkar.
The film titled Mardaani will feature Rani playing a cop. Sources state that this will be the boldest, grittiest subject YRF have ever ventured into, where the story revolves around a female cop and will also showcase Sarkar’s departure from the romance and family drama to a never done before raw and bold subject.
Mardaani, produced by Yash Raj Films is scheduled to go on floor towards the end of this year and will begin with a major portion being shot in Mumbai.
Previously, Sarkar has directed Rani in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.
