Deepika Padukone, who has kick-started the promotions of Ram Leela recently, attended a Garba event in Ahmedabad. However, the actress was in for a shock when about 40 Rajputs protested against her and were later, detained for it.
Ram Leela has been under the scanner as a certain section of people believe that the film might fuel up animosity between two prominent Rajput communities. The film revolves around the romance between the Rabari Rajput (played by Ranveer Singh) and Darbar Rajput (played by Deepika Padukone). Readers will also be aware of the fact that a Public Interest Litigation has been filed against the film in Gujarat High Court for banning the release of it in their region as they believe that the film might disturb the law and order of the state.
Ram Leela is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Supriya Pathak and Richa Chadda.
