Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Liar’s Dice nominated as India’s official entry for Oscars : Bollywood News

Geetu Mohandas' film Liar's Dice that released in January this year made headlines after the film was awarded the National Award for Best Cinematography. Adding an extra layer of icing was the lead actress Geetanjali Thapa's National Award for Best Actress. Now we hear that the Film Federation of India has selected Liar's Dice as India's official entry to the Oscars in the Best Foreign language film category.

Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapa, Liar's Dice also features Murari Kumar, Mukesh Tiwari, and follows the story of a young mother and her 3-year-old daughter from a tribal community who embark on a journey in search of her missing husband. On this journey she meets an army deserter, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who accompanies them.

Interestingly, the film beat 29 other films that were submitted to represent India at the Oscars 2015.
