Former actor Abhishek Kapoor (Jeetendra's nephew), who played the lead role in Uff Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai opposite Twinkle has issued a public legal notice in a trade magazine claiming that the script of Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost has been written by him and that any person or party dealing with Rubberband Films shall be liable for damages under Copyright act. Director Apoorva Lakhia has countered the allegation by claiming it as totally false and baseless. According to him, he had written the script almost six years ago and had got it registered in his name. Apoorva claims that he had given a copy of the script to Abhishek as a friend, which he apparently used to his unfair advantage. The producers are contemplating legal recourse to ensure that the release is not affected.
