A leading collector of Wizard of Oz books and memorabilia is planning a Bollywood production of Oz. Willard Carroll, who recently completed principal photography of his Salman Khan-Ali Larter film MARIGOLD, is writing a screen adaptation of the Oz books set in India and specifically intended for an all-star Indian cast. First published in 1900, L. Frank Baums The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz is generally regarded as Americas first indigenous fairytale. The 40 different Oz books, MGMs 1939 film starring Judy Garland and scores of other productions, have made Oz a cultural icon in the U.S.
