He started his career as a script writer in early 70s. He teamed up with Salim and delivered many super hit movies some of which include Don, Shaan and Sholay. Later, he took up writing lyrics and became a very popular lyricist.
Father of filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, Javed has also pens Urdu poetry. He has gone to become one of the biggest and most respected lyricist in the industry today.
