Shriya Saran has been signed to play the lead opposite Jimmy Sheirgill in an as-yet untitled film to be directed by Karan Butani who assisted Tigmanshu Dhulia in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster.
The film will be produced by Sunit Jawadekar while Tigmanshu Dhulia will be creative producer on the film.
The film that is a satire based in heartland of India will be going on floors in November this year and would be shot in Chambal Valley. Incidentally, Tigmanshu Dhulia's last directorial venture Paan Singh Tomar was also shot in and around similar locations in Madhya Pradesh.
The coming together of Jimmy and Shriya is a rather unconventional pairing. While Jimmy is playing a charming young village boy, Shriya would be playing the character of a sexy girl in the village.
Karan had been looking for someone to be paired opposite Jimmy and when they took Shriya's look test with Jimmy, they were very happy to see both of them looking so good together.
