Watching real-life father and son in a film together is a high for all cinegoers. Well, Feroz Khan and son Fardeen Khan will share the screen together for the first time in JANASHEEN, edited-produced-directed by Feroz Khan. The film has been shot extensively in Thailand and Australia [the unit went there on two occasions!] and Khan Sr. hopes to film the penultimate song in Afghanistan. But I may change the location to Saudi Arabia, he tells me, since Afghanistan does not have the infrastructure for film shootings. JANASHEEN stars Feroz and Fardeen Khan for the first time and there are bound to be fireworks on the screen. After all, Khan Sr. enacts a negative role in the film. Yes, its a negative role, he states, Actually, Ive enacted a wide variety of roles in my career and when this role was conceived, I decided to accept it as challenge. Shedding light on the content of the film, Khan says that the idea originated years ago when he presented a 10-year-old Fardeen with a bike then. Fardeen has used the bike in the film, which depicts the super bike racing competition, Khan divulges. Incidentally, Khan had depicted the super bike racing competition years ago in his directorial debut APRADH. As a director, Khan Sr. says that he was always confident of Fardeens abilities to deliver as a performer and his confidence in Fardeen stood vindicated when he saw KHUSHI. JANASHEEN is again a different film, says the maker, who has directed just seven films in his illustrious career. Ive always worked that way, Feroz Khan states, There has always been a gap of four years between my films. Fardeen says he was nervous when he had to share the same frame with his father [they come together eight times in the film!]. But it is Khan Sr. who says that he was more nervous when he was directing his son. JANASHEEN has as many as four music directors scoring the music and the film is slated for release in August.
