Veteran actor Jagdish Raj best known for his portrayal of the quintessential cop in numerous films passed away yesterday at his Juhu residence following a respiratory ailment. The 85 year old actor had apparently been ailing for the past two years, and also suffered from lung and respiratory problems.
Born as Jagdish Raj Khurana in Sargodha, British India (now part of Pakistan), he acted in films from 1960 till retirement in 1992. The last rites of the actor were performed yesterday evening at the Pawan Hans crematorium.
