It's well-known by now that Venus Records & Tapes Ltd. have decided against promoting the song promos of HUMRAAZ on television channels. Extensive hammering of the songs on the tube, they feel, takes away the charm from the songs when the film eventually releases. Which explains why they have decided to introduce talkie/action trailers of HUMRAAZ this time round. However, this writer was invited by the Jain brothers of Venus to have a sneak preview of the songs of this keenly anticipated flick. It's for the first time that director duo Abbas-Mustan have worked with music composer Himesh Reshammiya and the results are truly enchanting. Besides the songs, which are very well worded (lyrics: Sudhakar Sharma), each song has a story to it. While songs give the impression of being mere fillers in most films these days, in HUMRAAZ it's different, in the sense that you can feel the intense story moving ahead in every number. What adds sparkle to the song picturisations is the fresh casting. The Bobby Akshaye combo gives the film a fresh look and with a gripping plot (a triangle with a difference!) as the base, this is one flick to look forward to in June.
