Barely a week after it was announced that Hrithik was doing a Tarsem's Hollywood project Aditya, it is now being heard that the actor has backed out of it altogether. Initially scheduled to start in the current year, the project was signed before Hrithik catapulted to the superstardom in Bollywood. Now that the going is good in Bollywood, the Roshans are not keen to rock the boat and make the most while the sun is roshan on Hrithik. James Killough, the producer displayed the letter of understanding signed by Hrithik in June 2000 at Vancouver agreeing to play the lead role. Hrithik was in Vancouver for the shoot of Na Tum Jano Na Hum. Inside sources say that in addition to the uncertainties of a Hollywood project, where Hrithik being an unknown, will have to prove himself harder, what killed the project was the inability of Hrithik to commit to a continual 15-week shoot in Rajasthan. Also, subsequent to Hrithik's meteoric rise, Rakesh demanded 8-times the fee which was initially agreed to do the project. James said that if Hrithik did not want to continue in the project, he would just have to inform him in writing. But the Roshan's are cagey about that. James said that project is still on and they will now search for another male lead to play the title role in Aditya.
