How Aana Jaana became Tera Mera Rishta! : Bollywood News

That Awarapan is the first film soundtrack to feature musical talent from Pakistan in entirety is common knowledge but not many know this bit about how the Mustafa Zahid rendered Tera Mera Rishta came about on the soundtrack of the film. Initially, when Mahesh Bhatt heard Mustafa's rock band's album Rozen-e-Deewar, he selected To Phir Aao as the album's flagship track. Later on, he heard another track which he loved, Aana Jaana from the same album and decided to include it on the soundtrack as well. However, director Mohit Suri spoke to Mustafa about altering the lyrics of the song from Aana Jaana to Tera Mera Rishta, courtesy of Sayeed Quadri. Is this true? When we asked Mustafa, he said, "Yes, the original song is Aana Jaana. Mohit explained to me that songs have to be rendered and written according to the situation in the film. A song was needed for the sequence in which Emraan is remembering allah, and it wasn't possible to use lyrics like Aana Jaana Na Kar Deewana forallah. Hence the words were altered to Tera Mera Rishta Purana." Incidentally, the remix video (by DJ Suketu) of this track, shot in Bangkok, and picturised on Emraan Hashmi & Shreya Saran, is already on air and has bagged rave reviews. The video of the original version of Tera Mera Rishta is likely to go on air soon.
