Dharam Sanket Mein watched by Maulvi & Pundit before censor certificate

Post the furor over the anti-religion diatribe in Raj Kumar Hirani’s PK, it has now been decided by the Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) that all films dealing with the sensitive issue of religion and religiosity would be certified only after all misgivings are cleared.

Keeping in view the sensitivity of the new religious satire Dharam Sankat Mein, the censor board invited a Muslim and a Hindu religious expert as jury members to avoid any confusion or controversy over the content.

Says a very reliable source from the CBFC, “Dharam Sankat Mein is the official remake of the 2010 British comedy The Infidel directed by Josh Appignanesi. In the film Omid Djalili starred as a British Muslim who discovers he was born of Jew parentage. The role is played by Paresh Rawal in the remake.”

According to the source utmost caution was exercised in censoring the film. “We took the expert opinion of both the religious heads and then passed the film with a U certificate,” says the CBFC source.
