On small screen, in the world of endorsements, he may be propagating the 'mantra' of 'keeping it simple'. However, on big screen he is making the call of 'keeping it comic'. Though Ranbir Kapoor has worked in heavy duty films like Raajneeti and soon to be released Rockstar, in near future he is going far light hearted. However, he is surprised that many in the industry have this perception about his next film Barfee being a serious affair.
"No one knows how rumours started spreading around Barfee being a serious affair. May be because director Anurag Basu has made dramas like Life... In A Metro, Gangster and Kites, everyone started thinking that even Barfee would follow the same route, more so since Ranbir is playing a deaf & mute young man in the film", comments a co-actor.
Since the makers chose to keep quiet on all the speculations making the rounds while Ranbir as well as Priyanka have been busy with Rockstar and Don 2 respectively, rumor mongers have been having a field day for months now.
"It's sad to see such loose statements being made because Barfee is actually a very sweet heart warming romcom", says Ranbir, "Some people are assuming things when the fact is that it is an out and out fun film."
Reiterating that Barfee is a film which is meant for children as well as adults alike, Ranbir also reveals that it is set in the 70s.
The film was earlier supposed to release later this year but would now arrive only in May. What went wrong?
"I think it is very unfortunate that we couldn't proceed as per the plans", sighs Ranbir, "There were a couple of schedules that had to be moved around due to date problems. However, we are break on track now and the film is 50% done."
Well, that should set all speculations to rest.
