its completely an average movie!! although it will b liked by 40+ audience but rest will yawn for entertainment, acting wise movie is a thumbs up for every single person. but script has no exciting sequensce. all in one- it lacks wow factor. end is good. rest is average.

EXPECTATIONS - No need to say how can Music in a KJO movie be? It has always been excellent whether you say a soft album like "My Name Is Khan"/"Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" or a Wild Album Like "Dostana"/"I Hate Luv Storys". Always there are more than two or four historic tracks or should I say all of them? "We Are Family" is a very different movie in genre, neither a love story nor a perfect family movie. But SEL(Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy) always keeps their blasters for KJO whatever the genre is. So, as usual Expectations for this one was above roofs. But SEL didn't disappointed us a bit and honestly speaking, this one's one of the most laudable works of this year. "We Are Family" speaks from those albums which has nearly all of the tracks marvelously designed and sung by many famous and dexterous voices. SONGS The Journey starts with a joyous and romantic track which tells much promises and many circumstances which Love has created all over. The Track is titled "AANKHON MEIN NEENDE". Beautiful voices like Shreya Ghoshal, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Shankar Mahadevan are behind the mic for this one and not only did the magic of the voices worked but also the beautiful and mild rhythm and incomparable lyrics are responsible for the mystic beauty of the song. This SEL composed and Irshad Kamil written track will break paths this year in the field of Romanticism and soberness of a song. "Jailhouse Rock" one of the most famous tracks of ELVIS PRESLEY written by J.Leiber & M.Stoller strikes again to create sensation this year as a part of Dharma Productions in a Hindi version called "DIL KHOL KE LET'S ROCK". The compositions are almost the same(If I consider some new guitars stringed and some new sound effects) but the lyrics mean almost nothing as said in the song itself. SEL has uniquely re-mastered the Elvis track and has brought back that 70's magic once again. Where Anushka Manchanda and Akriti Kakkar take over the track as female voice, Suraj Jagan takes the place of Elvis. His screaming vocal was terrific which style is adapted from the original one. Anvita Dutt's lyrics don't amaze but there was no vital role of that in the song. Anyway, this one's gonna shake the boots when it will come on the floors and Elvis magic will rise again. The main track on which two more tracks of this album varies comes at last which is named "REHAM O KARAM". This sorrow-souled number also carries much 'Hope' in it if you listen to the lyrics. When the electric guitar chords wildly break out after the low-volume Shankar Mahadevan vocals, it feels that the song catches its main rhythm. The Wild Guitars, The Soft and Hard vocals at various times, the soulful rhythm - everything makes this song a perfect listen. My Best Pick of this album arrives now which is called "HAMESHA & FOREVER" and which actually is based on the genre of the movie'Family' and so this one's a "A Perfect Family Song". After "Meri Duniya Tu Hi Re" from "Heyy Babyy", one can feel the same heart-touching moments, lyrics and composition of a 'Happy Family' song which brings a feel that every member in this family is equally & awesomely loved. This one's a heart-warming, soul-touching track which is highly recommended for Sonu Nigam & Shreya Ghoshal's splendid vocals and it's soft composition in assistance with some masterpiece lyrics by Irshad Kamil. A Must-Listen. Now comes probably a sad version of REHAM O KARAM which doesn't contain any of its lyrics but carries the same rhythm and female vocal by Bela Shinde. "SUN LE DUA YEH AASMAN" is a slow-paced, sorrowful track which consists very little quantity of vocal cause after 130 seconds, the song's instrumental version rings up and continues till the end. But the things that are good in this track are good use of piano, flute and a playing a sweet rhythm of REHAM O KARAM. At last arrives "WE ARE FAMILY THEME" which is allover a instrumental and carries the soul of REHAM O KARAM again just like SUN LE DUA YEH AASMAN. This 168 seconds instrumental impresses indeed with its soft music and produces a calm feeling in the the listener's mind. ALLOVER "We Are Family" is the symbol of Perfection when faulty & bad albums like "HELP", "HELLO DARLING" & "AASHAYEIN" have made their appearance in the same time. No matter, if you are a Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio fan or not, "We Are Family" is a album that you should lust for and surely add in your collection. If the film doesn't work on the audience, it will still intact its remembrance by its fabulous music. RECOMMENDED 1.AANKHON MEIN NEENDEY 2.DIL KHOL KE LET'S ROCK 3.REHAM O KARAM 4.HAMESHA & FOREVER

great album. another top notch album by shankar-ehsaan-loy. sonu and shreya make a great combination and always have done. hamesha and forever my favourite track easily. rahet does his job as always - great song. reham o karan is another lovely track. def an album to listen to over and over again

Apart from Rahem O Karam.. the other songs are good for a decent one time hearing. i highly doubt this movie is going to make any sparks at the box office. Enjoy the one song for the time being. Lookn forward to more lucrative Karan Johar ventures like Agneepath remake.

Irrespective of the box office performance of their movies, Dharma Productions have been associated with some high-quality sound tracks. So each upcoming project from the production house raises the bar of expectations a bit. Especially when they have roped in Shankar-Ehsan-Loy to compose tunes for this "stepmom" remake, one expects nothing less from the soundtrack. Lyrics by Irshad Kamil further gives hope for the soundtrack. After listening to the soundtrack, it seems that with this film, Karan Johar is returning to his signature style of movie-making with alot of family drama embroided with tears all along. So does the album deliver? lets find out. Placing the songs in the descending quality. Rehm-o-Karam (singer: Vishal Dadlani & Shankar Mahadevan): Starting with mellow rendition by shankar and subdued piano tune, this song rises its tempo to become a wonderful rock song. Lyrics are wonderful. An excellent composition. The best of the lot. Aankhon mein neendein (singers: Rahat Fateh Ali, Shreya Goshal): A typical S-E-L romantic number. This is their zone and they deliver yet again with a tune that is easy on ears and lyrics that are simple yet likeable. Rahat Fateh's name has lately become almost an essential part of every significent soundtrack. This time though, he keeps the notes low in sync with the tune. Shreya perfectly complements. The combination works and though this is nothing exceptional, yet you are likely to end up liking the song. Hamesha & Forever (singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal): From this point onwards, the album takes a thematic route and while doing so the compositions remain mellow and sublime. This soothing melody with its roots in piano is sung with ease by Sonu and Shreya with the chorus being the highlight. Anyhow, it turns out to be a situational number, which might sound better in the narrative of the movie. On the soundtrack though, it is just a song to feel neutral about. Nothing exceptional over here. Sun ley Dua yeh Aasman (singer: Shreya Goshal): This is again totally a situational song and might enhance the effect of the proceedings in the movie. As a part of soundtrack, the track is way too slow to find repeat listens. Shreya Goshal does a magnificient job in singing this slow tune well complemented by the piano. We are Family Theme (instrumental): If you are listening to all the songs of the album in a go, you wouldn't even notice that "Sun Ley Dua" has finished and this theme instrumental has begun. The nicely composed theme relies heavily on piano once again and on the soundrack-level just sounds like a space-filler. Dil Khol key Let's Rock (singers: Anushka, Akriti & Suraj Jagan): A few seconds into the song and you thank God that Elvis Presley is not alive to hear this hindi version of his cult hit "jailhouse rock". I am surpirsed that the makers chose this song to be the main promotional song for the film. Though the singers jive along the tune quite promisingly, yet the outcome is not exciting at all. Overall: In nutshell, the album turns out to be too situational to get good critical appreciation at the "soundtrack-level". This perception anyhow, might change if the movie turns out to be well directed. But for now there are only two songs worth spending time on: "Rehm-o-Karam" and "Aankhon mein neendein".
