Well, when Aamir Khan recommends a movie, it has to be good watch. Watch we did, so did we like the movie? Hell yeah, we definitely did. For a change, a movie doesn’t actually require you to leave your brain at home, and for a change the dialogues are intelligent in a comedy! Read on Quickgun Murugun Review Why Quickgun Murugun works * The film is very innovative and different, almost comic book like. * The dialogues are funny yet very intelligent. * Its the director’s tribute to the over-the-top era of the 70s and 80s. Its basically an extended version of Shahrukh Khan’s Rajnikant-like act in Om Shanti Om or Dhoni’s pepsi ad. * Not for a moment does the movie bore. Funny characters, vibrant colors, terrific performances, blood, gore et al the film ensures your hooked to your seats throughout. * Director Shashanka Ghosh’s direction is spot on. * Dr Rajendra Prasad is perfect for the role. Can’t imagine any Bollywood actor pulling it off with such brilliance. * Nasser as Rice Plate Reddy, the villiant, is fantastic. * Rambha does well too, nice to see her back. Remember her act with Salman Khan in Judwa? * The rest including Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey in short roles do well. * Background music plays a key role in enhancing the QUickgun experience. What didn’t quite work for Quickgun Murugun * Excessive use of Tamil language, although with subtitles.. Doesn’t work too well. * The film is more violent than expected. There is a good amount of blood and gore in this. Overall, Quickgun Murugun is a must-watch. Watch it, to experience something different, something so delicious, that you can’t help but go for a second serving. I would watch it again!

Sometimes we need junk food to satisfy our taste apetite. We cannot live only eating healthy food. Similarly, we need sometimes brainless movies for our entertainment. It falls in the same genre.

QGM doesn't have the masala to become an engrossing 2 hr entertainer, from being a mere filler on a popular TV channel. Quick Gun derives his energy from the performance of Rajendra Prasad alone. Sloppy script and mediocre thrills make it a dead film. The concept though can bring out a chilly, goofy comedy ala Austin Powers, Ace Ventura and Get Smart.

When i heard of Quick Gun Murugun, i thought its going to be just another movie with innumerable slapstick jokes which will fail miserably to make you laugh. But boy, I was so wrong. This movie is laugh riot from the word Go. MIND IT The plot is so creative and unique from anything you might hear ever in your life. I mean common, how many movies have you seen which revolves around Masala Dosa's and Non-Vegetarianism and still manage to tickle your funny bone. I say None other than Quick Gun Murugun. The characters are well sketched from Murugun to Mango Dolly from Rice Plate Reddy to Rowdy MBA. All are just wonderful. Rajendra Prasad does a fantastic job and is an out an out winner in the movie. Also the Dialogues will have you in splits and is a fine break over your ghisa-pita Bollywood Comedies which can only 'try' to be funny. Overall the movie, is as fine as it can get and is hilarious. So if you are scratching your head as to which movie you should catch up this week, Scratch No More. For the Murugun of the Quick Gun is here I say. Mind It!

Quick Gun Murugan is a South Indian cowboy, a honorable man who protects the weak with his incredible pistol skills and impeccable fashion style. While protecting a village from a villain known as Rice Plate Reddy, a man who's intent on making the poor villagers eat- (gasp) beef!- he ends up getting shot and killed. 25 years later in 2008, Murugan reincarnates as himself thanks to a lifetime of devotion towards vegetarianism. He sets out to find Rice Plate Reddy, who is currently trying to start up a Dosa franchise called McDosa. (Dosa's a South Indian dish, basically a crepe with rice and lentils.) This evil, evil man is kidnapping mommies from around the country to find the perfect Dosa recipe, and then stuffing it with meat! The horror! Quick Gun Murugan comes to set things right, with a whole lot of bullets. And bollywood dance numbers. So as you might guess this movie is a must-see. Who would have thought that the ultimate Western spoof would come from India? But it has- the whole beginning of this film shows such an innate understanding of what makes a cowboy flick work, and then turns it on its ear. It keeps things interesting even when it turns into a complete spoof by the end, the usual "transplant in the big city" story where the man is confused by utensils and the internet, and doesn't get why people are scared of his pistols. The mixing of the western genre with Bollywood is definitely an interesting one, though it's bound to turn some people off. But you have to appreciate how the film segues from a cheerful, silly musical flashback to Murugan literally crying in his whiskey in a saloon, and then blowing away all the bad guys who made fun of him for tearing up. There's no way not to love a movie that has two cowboys making a standoff in a modern street, walking ten paces on top of cars and motorcylists' helmets. It's frequently laugh out loud funny, with a ton of classic lines and over-the-top badass moments. It's not all perfect, however. There's a lot of CGI that's about on par with a Scifi Channel original, mostly the bullet-time effects that have been done to death over the last decade. The sense of humor is incredibly immature and goofy, which might turn some people off. And, of course, the characters are all caricatures, cheap cardboard cutouts of people with no substance behind them. That's intentional and sort of the point, however. Quick Gun Murugan is silly, quirky, and a hell of a lot of fun. Mind it! 8.5 out of 10
