EXPECTATIONS -
Ever since the K.K. sung title track hit the television and you tube channels, a rage was awaken as the song was mind-blowing. Adding with that, came DHUNKI, which one is yet another step towards success. Mere brother ki dulhan's music in my calculations took the most time to release as YRF movie's music doesn't take such time to release. This time for a change, they try Sohail Sen as he got quite fame after the musical success of What'S Your Raashee? [Thank God, the songs were good]. How he works for one of the most prestigious banners is yet to be described.
REVIEW -
Song Title: Mere Brother Ki Dulhan
Music Director: Sohail Sen
Singer(s) : K.K., Krishna Beura
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
"Matrimonial Si Aankhein, Sab Ko Ab Taanke Jhaanke, Dhoondein Dil Chehre Dil Baakein" the funny, enjoyable video takes birth from one of the most finest made title tracks of movies. Wacky lyrics like "Mohabbat ki Woh ho Google", "Ho Jisme 3G ki tezi" is just the icing of the cake, as the song gets more enjoyable after every moment. Sung beautifully by immensely talented K.K., this song stands between the toppers of this year and has already set the charts on fire. The tributes to three Khans by Imran Khan seems more interesting as the song is such jolly. This is the kind of track you can keep on repeat mode and forget.
Song Title: Dhunki
Music Director: Sohail Sen
Singer(s) : Neha Bhasin
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
The song's best moments are the electric guitars playing wildly and "Oh Malang Hua Dil Yeh Mera Hey...", but as it continues the bold voice by Neha Bhasin creates the needed atmosphere and bring out the sense of "Dhunki". As featured in the video, Katrina is the boldest girl in her place who sets out to do a rock concert. If a song like Dhunki is sung at the concert, then believe me, the concert is a sure success. Not concentrating on the words, this song works on rhythm and singing completely. A must-listen.
Song Title: Choomantar
Music Director: Sohail Sen
Singer(s) : Benny Dayal & Aditi Singh Sharma
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
A completely diff type of song arrives in the list which deals with FUN in a complete new manner. When Imran, Katrina are riding autos, driving scooties, drinking beers, Choomantar is a kind of track that can seem very melodious in the situation which is not so necessary. But Choomantar casts a spell that binds you throughout the track and makes you feel it sits perfect and there it succeeds
Song Title: Isq Risk & Isq Risk [Risky Mix]
Music Director: Sohail Sen
Singer(s) : Rahat Fateh Ali Khan - Sreeramachandra, Neha Bhasin & Joshilay
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
Trying to be a 'Tujhe Bhula Diya' & 'O Re Piya' by its melodious tunes, 'Isq Risk' suddenly diverts the mood towards a qawali tune along with a sad feeling carrying in it. Isq Risk is extremely beautiful song sung marvellously by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Unique lyrics, soulful composition and immensely beautiful voice - all this are Isq Risk's winning ingredients. This ong also comes in a RISKY MIX version which is not at all emotional like the original version. It's tempo-full, beaty, pumpy & rocking with a discotheque feeling.
Song Title: Madhubala
Music Director: Sohail Sen
Singer(s) : Ali Zafar & Shweta Pandit
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
Need some fun? Make way for "Madhubala", a complete carefree, maniac track that makes your heads move by its constant tabla beats. "Panghat Pe Naache , Nache Re Nache Madhubala" - that's the powerful punch line for the song. Yes, forget Meera, Forget Sheila, Madhubala is back in Katrina and the song just rocks. Thanks to Ali Zafar for a spectacular voice.
Song Title: Do Dhaari Talwaar
Music Director: Sohail Sen
Lyricist: Irshad Kamil
Singer(s): Shahid Mallya, Shweta Pandit
Same in theme like MADHUBALA, Do Dhaari Talwar is yet another mindless, simple words filled dance number, that the soundtrack of the movie is not in lack of. Shahid Mallya, the newly famed boy by singing "Rabba", sings well and has a trendy voice. But Shweta Pandit's sexy vocal pumps the volume, raises the heat and yet another pacy, 3G fast dance number.
VERDICT -
MBKD is surely the best work by Sohail Sen till date as its a hardcore fun-filled music album as it promised. As the soundtrack of a movie symbolizes the movie itself, MBKD passes with flying colors as it consists mostly Fun and trend, bhangra, qawali, rock, pump, beats everything and promises that the movie has extreme fun as the soundtrack has. The disappointment of BODYGUARD is totally abolished by MBKD's awesome music and we hope to see Sohail Sen in more works afterwards. Final Word? Still thinking? Collect your copy this instant. They don't make such music anymore.
