Am not a writer,and never a reviwer.But after seeing the most powerful film of the year(i mean this is how Taran Adarsh describes it),i was literally forced to foray in.Now why i went for the movie.The review given in Times and other portal described the movie in the same generous fashion, so thought of giving it a shot,thereby making a 'Kurbaan' of my 150 bucks and 3 hrs too..The movie is full of flaws and loopholes,extremely ambigious and too filmy.I was shocked to see when like age old hindi movies,Kareena kapooer who plays the role of Proff. takes out bullet which had pierced in Saif's shoulder and also attempts to give a stitch to the would.Shocked at this attempt i mustered in the theatre,"ye doctor hai kya", to which my freind replied "nahi actor hai"..lol..seriously this is short how the movie is.Full of flaws,the storyline adapted(i would say stolen) from New York(the later was though watchable).Karan Johar and his director knew how disastrous the output had gone and so in order to hide the lapses, had shown some explicit sex scenes.Even the guest appearance gal,Dia Mirza gets to do a lip-lock with Vivek Oberoi..Wat d hell man..This is bollywood.I still wonder what the posters of Kurbaan showing the bare-back kareena nd topless saif meant to convey.Isn't it an attempt to woo the masses showcasing the sexual part of the film rather than the true message(obviously the makers knew there wasn't one).All in all the film is outrageous,absurb and left me shell-shocked.Maybe its time Karan should revert back the movies he is used to.His maiden attempt at the serious cinema proves to be what i say is callous attempt to malign a particular section of the society.perhaps more than me they would feel cheated,disgusted and outraged.
A film which could and should be easily avoided.Lie on your bed in the weekend or spend some time with ur near and dear ones rather than goin though the atrocity of seeing the movie.Save your money rather..!!!.
And i can see the min. rating here is 0.5(very poor).Can i go below it..For me it was -1(very poor,ambigous and outrageous)
