JAAN-E-MANN is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who has given us a number of hits avec Salman Khan, and the latest one was Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. JAAN-E-MANN started slowly at the box-office, while DON which was released at the same day had a phenomenal start. However, JAAN-E-MANN picked up at the box-office, and is considered as average/hit now. It got good critics so I gave it a chance, despite Salman Khan was playing here (I am not a huge fan of Salman Khan, and I haven't seen the last films of him). It seems to be a good idea that I watched the movie because it was very good. The music is very much related to the script of the film, and sometimes it doesn't give so much sense if you only listen to the music without watching the movie. In addition, some unique film-making techniques have been used here, especially color/look which gives a feeling of watching a theatre. This is interesting because if actors fail in giving proper expressions, the effects will ensure the correct message to watcher. The catergory of the film was romantic comedy, and it has some fresh comedy compared to "traditional" Salman Khan-comedies. We see less of his previous acting techniques, which reminds me of langoors. Akshay Kumar was good in the role of a geek, and delivers good humour as well.

Jaan-e-Maan is definitely not my Jaan-e-Man, especially after taking a look at the movie. The story was a typical Indian Cliché, a simple love triangle ending up with a sacrifice and the usual drama of "I broke up with her, but because of so and so I want to start again," The story of course would've been loved by everyone as each director interprets the drama in a different way, Shirish Kunder took "DIFFERENT" to a whole new level, and what a bad level it was. The constant over-dose of music makes the movie look and sound like a theatre-play rather than a film to be shown in the cinema. Akshay's performance is awesome as well as Preity's but Salman's tuxedo act was just a simple thumbs down. The only funny part of the movie were the college times and Akshay's occasional snorting rounds of laughter.Anupam Kher's "Dwarfness" has no motive and you can clearly tell Anupam is moving about on his knees.Other than that, no amusement is expected from this movie. Some of the comedy is actually pretty lame, observe: Salman: I'm a homosexual Akshay: I'm a homosexual (Preity's face drops) Salman: Do not say that, Heterosexual! Anything deeply amusing about that? No i do not think so. The direction, the theatre-play look and Salman's performance does not give Jaan-e-Maan any mercy, however flashy sets and locals, cinematography and broadway style music gives the film some form entertainment. Overall, Jaan-e-Maan lacks depth in dramatic areas, fails to make the audience laugh when intended to and the theatre-play direction look is more or less a joke. However, Excellent performances by two of the actors, flashy locals, great cinematography and amazing broadway style music, contribute to the movie, classifying the movie as mediocre.

Sajid nadiadwala had done acknowledgable job!! Janemann was a fabulous & a well made and well performed movie of 2006. Don and Janeman were released together but the charms and sweetness of Janemann cannot be compared with Don. Salman,Akshay and Priety have done a great job & great justice to their specified roles!! All was real to life and story was well-made & well presented too.The unpredictable twists and turns were great and Akshay was stunning in the movie,i loved ANupam Kher in his that SMALL LOOK,Preity was incredible and Salman was different+mature. The only 2 drawbacks of Janemann were:the film sometimes gets too slow and the story moves at a slow pace.The other drawback of the movie was that the songs were too slow or too romantic.The lyrics didnt had something ''ADDICTIVE'' & something touching souls. All songs sounded same except ''Janemann jannejaa'' or ''Humko maloom hai ishq masoom hai". Except this the movie was well-perfomed,welll directed,well written and in ALL a well-executed movie!!!! A MUST watch for everyone.!!!!

i have read all the reviews about jaanemann.this is my own opinion.i feel that jaanemann is an excellent film.it moves at a steady pace,with a great story as well.preity zinta has once again proved that she is the queen of bollywood.after her performance in kal ho na ho,veer zaara,salaam namaste and kank,this is one of the most versatile actresses to come out of bollywood.salman khan has excelled as well.this is the salman khan we can get used to seeing.it was a pleasure to see him in a film like this after the pathetic saawan-the love season.this is one of his most appreciable performances.as for akshay kumar,he has done well in his supporting role.his rueful laugh was so funny.the director has excelled in his first movie.this is a sajid nadiadwalas production and it was quite nice to see a good movie from him after har dil jo pyaar karega.he surpassed his own efforts in the disappointing mujshe shaadi karogi.the story is so typical of real life when people sacrifice their marriages for their career and only realise what they have lost when it is too late.the screenplay was excellent.jaanemann is a more sensitive look after kank.so if you dont like the way the marriages ended in kank,jaanemann is good for you.

It could have been years one of the biggest blockbusters but because of its wrong timing of release it couldn't be. The new director has gr8 potential to be in top league. I heard that SRK rejected the movie if its correct must say SRK missed the gr8 bus. Its too good then Don but the main reason for it not doing that well as Don was the fact that it was DON was reamake of old hit of BIGB and had KING KHAN in it which affected movies first week collection. Though slowly movie did pick but it lost the freshness of new movie of the week which tends to affect movies collection after first week nowadays. Lastly mark my words though salman may or may not win award considering a gr8 competition from Hrithik,AAMIR but Akshay must just be lucky and may definately win an award for BEST SUPORTING ACTOR.
