Its a good movie as far as acting and the performance concern. Start of the movie is realy good but when Guru starts business he is shown extra ordinary smart, clever, sharp minded and above the world but how? There is nothing to prove all this in the movie that how he gets these all successes. I will call this there is no RTB for being extraordinary and sharpness of GURU. Topic was very different and i think it requires much more to do justice with it due to that i will say that it is a average movie.

GURU represents a laborious piece of work from Mani Ratnam and his cast. Abhishek Bachan's performance is undoubtedly on of the tremendous efforts any bolyywood actor could come up with. Finally a boy showing up the quality of his genes inherited from his father, Amitabh Bachan. For the first time there is a real threat to SRK's king position: this is the time. Hrithik Roshan natural showman and handsome walk here and there in films were never enough challenging to threaten the fine acting efforts of SRK who has always been ambitious an effort-giving in acting. But now with the resurrection of the Abhishek Bachan, there is time for worries. The next actor to rule has come, and its time to recognise what is good acting skills, and a true actor. Since films like Raju bn gaya Gentleman ,Lagaan, Devdas, its only now that have been able to watch again a new identify in an indian film.

On the whole it was a real good effort to tackle such a wonderful concept. The character of Guru himself was enough to lead the whole story. It will be much better if the writer put extra effort in storytelling. Movies like that can be made differently ruther just follwing the events of plot. All the actors did fine jobs, and no problem with direction. Real problem was its last 30 minutes. When Guru broke down in the ending ,it was really not believeable that man like Guru can collapse. Also you cannot expect that judges can be impressed by just 5 minutes speech. Guru was taking actions in the whole movie but he do nothing in the ending except making speech in front of judges.

Guru was one of the most awaited movies for me , I started to have apprehensions about it ever since the release of the film got postponed from Dec 06 to Jan 07. With baited breath I checked up the reviews of the film on 13 Jan well the reviews were from extremely good to extremely poor. Never had I seen such contradictive reviews and so I decided to ensure I put in my views of the film. Guru is possibly the best to have come out of Mani Ratnam's kitty after possibly Nayagan. I say this because though Nayagan was a Mani Rathnam film I went to see it because of Kamalahasan. Now I am convinced that even if Abhishek ahd acted in the role he would have also been able to produce the goods. Guru the movie is a brave attempt in the copy foriegn film genere when every second movie on show is a remake of an english movie. But Guru is a class of its own, The story telling is smooth the movie grows on you and with perhaps a couple of rumblers in the middle the ride is smooth and pacey. Each character has been carefully etched, each locale is mindblowing , each scene is superbly crafted and the music is just too good. I have never seen Abhishek perform with such ease which shows that its a director who makes a character and not the other way around. Go Abhishek go and climb on to the top because you are headed there soon. Aishwarya turns in a professional performance and the real revelation is Mithun da in the character role of his life , we wish to see him more in such roles that remind me of good old Ashok Kumar. ON the whole with noo fights no stunts, no sexually stimulating scenes no tera jerking melodrama the movie proves that good story telling can make a simple biography so interesting to watch. The dialogues could have been directed at the gallery, number of scenes had the potential but the directoe resisted and that to em are the strong points which makes the film stand out from the rest.

Guru....the most controversial man has arrived....and that to withe a bang. Mani Ratnam does a fine job at the celluloid. Guru is one of the finest attempts by him. Right from the beginning till the end .....he keeps the audience glued to the screens! The song in the beginning "Mahya Mahya" is sizzling...then there is no looking back to the movie ! Abhishek, and Mithun have delivered the best.

why is guru unique??? because we have never seen a movie on"making of a business tycoon". audience, u why is abhishek liked by everyone because there is no glimpses of big b in his character......he totally did it as abhishek bachchan..not amitabh bachchan...he didn't need to speak his expression in whole movie is amazing.cheers for chota b! aishwaraya is good. for mithun...i can say it is his comeback movie as per his age. madhavan n vidya balan are good. maniratnam once again proved that he is director who can make movie at any topic..actors in his movies are director's actor..contribution of abhishek or mithun performance excels becoz of maniratnam....

The film has a lot of flaws, what happened to Guru's Bro in law, he was nowhere to be seen even when his daughters were born. Aishwarya left him, and after sometime when they meet, she has no questions to ask him, she seems to have completely forgotten the past, this was difficult to digest. How did he get past that honest minister? How did he all of a sudden start speaking normally when 2 months ago he was completely paralytic? How did he get away with the Enquiry commission just by giving a 5 minute speech?
