Devara Part 1 Trailer Launch: Saif Ali Khan reveals ‘feeling like a newcomer’ as he opens up about debuting in Telugu cinema; says, “I felt nervous”

Amid many Bollywood stars who have shifted their attention towards adding South Cinema to their repertoire, is also Saif Ali Khan. The actor is making his Telugu film debut alongside Jr NTR in the upcoming nautical action drama Devara Part 1 and sharing his excitement was the actor at the trailer launch of the film which was held in Mumbai on September 10. During the same, Saif not only appreciated the work that South Cinema has been doing but also shared his experience on working on his first Telugu film.

Saif Ali Khan went on to confess that despite his long career in Bollywood, making his debut in Telugu cinema made him nervous and he also went on to describe how it made him feel like a newcomer despite a career of three decades in Hindi Cinema.  “I remember my first shot speaking Telugu, and I had a bit of sweat running down my back. I felt nervous in a very different way,” the actor stated and he went on to continue, “I come from the same country, but our states are different from one another. Going down there was a totally different experience.”

 

Meanwhile, the actor also expressed gratitude towards the Devara Part 1 team for giving him this film as he shared, “It was very kind of Taarak and Siva because movies made in the South have recently been mind-blowing and to get a chance to act in a film like this, I did feel like a newcomer." He also mentioned about his attempt at Telugu and added, “I have spoken the language, I love the movie, and I loved what I have done in it also”.

 

Speaking of Devara Part 1, directed by Kortala Siva, the action entertainer will be releasing in two parts. Apart from Saif Ali Khan, the film also marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor who plays the leading lady alongside Taarak aka Jr NTR. Devara: Part 1 is slated for release on September 27 in multiple languages including Hindi.
